What's inside

Six ingredients.
No mystery.

Here's our starting formula. We're testing it, and it can still change.

Still in testing
  • Paraffin waxThe base. Most of the tin, and it sets how the wax melts and spreads.
  • Microcrystalline waxAdded for flexibility. The goal is wax that doesn't crack or flake in a cold rink.
  • BeeswaxNatural tack, plus a little extra structure.
  • Gum rosinThe grip ingredient. Same idea that makes surf wax work.
  • Mineral oilSmooths how it goes on. More oil is softer, less is firmer.
  • Fragrance oil + dyeSix scents, matched to six colors.
How to use it

Rub on. Rub in. Skate.

Stick wax goes on your blade tape to add grip and help the tape hold up to moisture and wear.

  1. 1

    Start clean

    Dry, clean tape.

  2. 2

    Rub it on

A thin layer across the blade.

  3. 3

    Work it in

Use your hand to blend it into the tape.

  4. 4

    Re-apply

Add more when the grip fades.

The build

We're building this in the open.

No big launch hype yet. Here's the plan, and we'll share what we learn, good or bad.

  1. 01

    Test batch

Hand-pour a small batch of tins in a few formulas to compare.

  2. 02

    Blind test

Players try it against the wax they use now, without knowing which is which.

  3. 03

    First run

Make a small branded batch of the winning formula.

  4. 04

    Rink launch

Our own rink and team first, then everywhere else.
